Kielbasa and cabbage crockpot recipe

Ingredients needed:

* 1 1/2 lb. head green cabbage, shredded
* 2 medium onions, chopped
* 3 medium red potatoes, peeled and cubed
* 1 red bell pepper, chopped
* 2 garlic cloves, minced
* 2/3 cup dry white wine
* 1 1/2 lbs Polish kielbasa, cut into 3 inch long pieces
* 28 oz can of cut up tomatoes with juice
* 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard
* 3/4 teaspoon caraway seeds
* 1/2 teaspoon of pepper
* 3/4 teaspoon of salt

Preparation needed:

* Combine all ingredients into crockpot
* Cover and cook on low for 7 1/2 hours. Cabbage should be tender

Polish sausage stew crockpot recipe

Ingredients needed:

* 1 can of cream of celery soup
* 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
* 27 oz can sauerkraut, drained
* 1 1/2 pounds of Polish sausage, cut into 2-inch pieces and browned
* 4 medium potatoes, cubed
* 1 cup of chopped onions
* 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

Preparation steps:

* Combine soup, sauerkraut and sugar. Stir in sausage, onions and potatoes.
* Cover. Cook on low for 8 hours, or on high for 4 hours
* Stir in cheese and serve

Sweet red bell pepper soup crockpot recipe

Ingredients needed:

* 8 large red bell peppers
* 2 tablespoons of olive oil
* 1 large onion, thinly sliced
* 3 large cloves of minced garlic
* 1 teaspoon of black pepper
* 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
* 2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar
* 2 teaspoons of sugar
* 1 1/2 tablespoon of fresh thyme

Preparation steps:

* Cut peppers in half and remove stem and seeds; quarter. Pour oil into crockpot. Add peppers, onion, garlic, black pepper and oregano; stir gently to combine. Cover and cook on high for 4 hours. Bell peppers should be very tender. Stir halfway through cooking.
* Blend bell peppers until smooth using an immersion blender directly in crockpot or transfer in batches to a counter-top blender. Stir in balsamic vinegar and sugar. To serve, top each bowl with fresh thyme.

Asian pork with noodles crockpot recipe

Ingredients needed:

* 2 cans of reduced sodium chicken broth
* 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
* 2 tablespoons of rice wine vinegar
* 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
* 2 tablespoons of honey
* 2 medium cloves garlic, minced
* 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh ginger
* 1 pound of pork tenderloin
* 1 pound baby bok choy, cliced
* 1 cup sliced fresh shiitake mushrooms
* 8 ounces rice noodles, uncooked
* 1/4 cup chopped peanuts

Preparation needed:

* Combine chicken broth, soy sauce, vinegar, hoisin, garlic, ginger and honey in crockpot. Stir well to combine. Place pork tenderloin in crockpot; cover and cook on low for 6 hours
* Remove pork from crockpot. Add bok choy, mushrooms, and noodles to crockpot, making sure that noodles are submerged in liquid; cook 20 to 30 minutes
* When pork is cool enough to handle, shred with forks. Return shredded pork to crockpot; stir well to combine and rewarm
* To serve, divide pork, vegetables and noodles among bowls, pour in 1/2 cup of broth. Sprinkle each serving with peanuts

Bean tator tot casserole in crockpot


Ingredients needed:

* 1 pound of ground beef
* 1/2 teaspoon of salt
* 1/4 teaspoon of pepper
* 1 onion, finely chopped
* 1 lb bag frozen string beans
* Can of cream of mushroom soup
* 1 cup of shredded cheese
* 21 oz bag of frozen tator tots

Preparation needed:

* Crumble raw ground beef into bottom of the crockpot. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
* Layer remaining ingredients on beef in order listed.
* Cover. Cook on high for 1 hour. Reduce heat to low and cook for 3 more hours

Meatloaf crockpot recipe

Ingredients needed:
* 2 1/2 pounds of ground beef
* half of an 8 oz jar of salsa
* 1 package dry taco seasoning, divided
* 1 egg, slightly beaten
* 1 cup bread crumbs
* 12-ounce package of shredded Meximan-mix cheese
* 2 teaspoons of salt
* 1/2 teaspoon of pepper

Preparation needed:

* Combine all ingredients, except half of taco seasoning. Mix well. Shape into loaf and place into crockpot. Sprinkle with remaining taco seasoning.
* Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.

This makes for an awesome meatloaf dinner. Just add your side and vegetable.

Seafood Gumbo crockpot recipe

* 1 lb okra, sliced
* 2 tablespoons of melted butter
* 1/4 cup butter, melted
* 1/4 cup of flour
* 1 bunch of green onions, sliced
* 1/2 cup chopped celery
* 2 garlic cloves, minced
* 16-oz can of tomatoes and juice
* 1 bay leaf
* 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
* 1 fresh thyme sprig
* 1 1/2 teaspoon of salt
* 1 teaspoon of red pepper
* 4 cups of water
* 1 pound of peeled and deveined fresh shrimp
* 1/2 pound fresh crabmeat

Preparation needed:

* Saute okra in 2 tablespoons of butter while okra is lightly browned. Transfer to crockpot.
* Combine remaining butter and flour into skillet. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently until roux is the same color as the chocolate. This usally takes about 20 to 25 minutes. Stir in green onions, celery and garlic. Cook until vegetables are tender. Add to crockpot. Gently stir in remaining ingredients.
* Cover. Cook on high for 4 hours
* Serve over rice

Turkey spinach lasagna crockpot recipe



Ingredients needed:

* 3/4 cup of chopped onion
* 2 medium cloves of garlic, minced
* 1 pound lean ground turkey
* 1 teaspoon of italian seasoning
* 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
* 1 fifteen ounce container of fat-free ricotta cheese
* 1 cup of reduced-fat italian shredded cheese, divided
* 12 ounces no-boil lasagna noodles
* 1 ten ounce package of frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
* 1 jar (24 ounces) chunky marinara sauce
* 1/2 cup water

Preparation needed:

* Lightly coat skillet with nonstick cooking spray. Cook onion and garlic over medium heat until softened (approximately 5 minutes). Add turkey to skillet, breaking up into pieces, and cook fully. Drain. Season turkey with italian seasoning and pepper; set aside.

* Combine ricotta cheese and 1/2 cup italian shredded cheese in a small bowl

* Layer half of uncooked noodles, breaking in half to fit and overlap as necessary in crockpot. Spread half of meat mixture and half of spinach over noodles. Top with half of marinara sauce and 1/4 cup of the 1/2 cup of water. Gently spread all of the ricotta cheese mixture on top. Continue layering with remaining noodles, meat mixture, spinach, marinara sauce and the remaining 1/4 cup of water.

* Cover; cook on low for 4 hours. Just before serving, sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup italian cheese on top, cover and cook until cheese is melted.

Saucy scalloped potatoes crockpot recipe

Ingredients needed:

4 cups of peeled, thinly sliced potatoes.
1 can of cream of celery or cream of mushroom soup (I personally prefer the cream of mushroom)
12 oz can of evaporated mild
1 large onion, sliced
2 tablespoons of butter or margarine
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon of pepper
1 1/2 cups chopped, fully cooked ham

Preparation needed:
Combine potatoes, soup, evaporated mild, onion, butter, salt, and pepper into crockpot. Mix well.
Cover. Cook on high for 1 hour. Stir in ham. Reduce to low. Cook on low for approximately 7 hours

Ingredients needed:
* 12 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed
* 1 cup of milk
* 6 tablespoons of butter
* 3/4 teaspoon of salt
* 2 1/4 cups of Velveeta cheese, cubed
* 2 eggs, beaten

Preparation needed:
* Combine all ingredients. Pour into crockpot.
* Cover. Cook on High for 2 1/2 hours or low for 4 hours.

BBQ Pulled Chicken crockpot recipe

Ingredients needed:

* 1 15-oz can of tomato sauce
* 3/4 cup cider vinegar
* 1 small onion, finely chopped
* 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
* 3 tablespoon of molasses
* 1/2 teaspoon of salt
* 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
* 1 1/2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
* 1 1/2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
* 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
* 12 seeded hamburger buns

Preparation needed:

* Whisk together tomato sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, molasses, onion, salt and pepper in crockpot. Add chicken breasts and thighs. Cover and cook on High for 6 hours or on low for 8 hours.
* Uncover and remove chicken from sauce to a bowl. Pour sauce into a medium pot. In a small bowl, blend cornstarch and 1 tablespoon of water. Stir into sauce in pot. Bring to a boil; boil for one minute until thickened.
* Using two forks, roughly shred chicken. Pour sauce over chicken and gently stir to combine. Spoon shredded chicken mixture onto rolls.

Yummy steak crockpot recipe

Ingredients needed:

* 1 1/2 lb round steak, cut 3/4 inch thick
* 1/4 cup of flour
* 1/2 teaspoon of salt
* 1/4 teaspoon of pepper
* 1/4 teaspoon of paprika
* 2 onions, sliced
* 4-oz can of sliced mushrooms, drained
* 1/2 cup of beef broth
* 2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce
* 2 tablespoons of flour
* 3 tablespoons of water

Preparation needed:

* Mix together flour, salt, pepper and paprika
* Cut steak into 5 to 6 pieces. Dredge steak pieces in seasoned flour until lightly coated
* Layer half of onions, half of steak, and half of mushrooms into crockpot. Repeat
* Combine beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Pour over mixture in crockpot
* Cover. Cook on low 8 to 10 hours.
* Remove steak to serving platter and keep warm. Mix together the flour and water. Stir into drippings and cook on high until thickened (approximately 10 minutes). Pour over steak and serve

Ingredients needed:

* 4 boneless, skinless chicken-breast halves
* 1 can of cream of chicken soup. You can also use cream of celery or cream of mushroom. (I have tried using each and I prefer the cream of chicken)
* 1/3 cup of milk
* 1 package of Stove Top stuffing mix and seasoning packet
* 1 2/3 cups of water

Preparation:

* Place chicken in slow cooker
* Combine soup and milk. Pour over chicken.
* Combine stuffing mix, seasoning packet, and water. Spoon over chicken.
* Cover. Cook on low for 7 hours.

Chicken and Dumplings crockpot recipe

Ingredients needed:

* 4 whole chicken breasts, or 1 small chicken
* 3/4 cup of sliced carrots
* 1/4 cup chopped celery
* 1/4 cup chopped onions
* 1 1/2 cup peas
* 4 to 6 tablespoons of flour
* 1 cup of water
* salt and pepper for taste
* buttermilk baking mix
dumplings
* paprika

Preparation steps:

* Cook chicken in water in soup pot. Cool, skin and debone chicken. Return broth to boiling in soup pot.
* Cook vegetables in microwave on high for 5 minutes.
* Combine flour and water until smooth. Add to boiling chicken broth. Add enough extra water to make 4 cups of broth, making sure gravy is fairly thick. Season with salt and pepper.
* Combine chicken, vegetables and gravy in crockpot.
* Mix dumplings as directed on baking mix box. Place dumplings on top of chicken in slow cooker. Sprinkle with paprika.
* Cover. Cook on high for 3 hours.

This makes an awesome chicken and dumplings meal.

Easy Barbecue Pork Chops for crockpot

Ingredients needed:

* 8 Pork Chops (I prefer boneless chops)
* 1 cup of barbecue, or sweet-sour, sauce

Preparation needed:

* Brush each pork chop generously with sauce, then place in slow cooker.
* Cover. Cook on low for 7 to 8 hours

Pork chops turn out great and you just need to add the sides once done

Ingredients needed:

* 3 cups dried navy beans
* 9 cups of water
* 1 medium onion, chopped
* 1 cup of ketchup
* 1 cup of water
* 2 teaspoons of dry mustard
* 1 cup of brown sugar
* 2 tablespoons of dark molasses
* 1 tablespoon of salt
* 1/4 lb. salt pork, ground or diced

Preparation needed:

* Cook beans in water in soup pot until softened, or bring to a boil, cover and let stand 1 1/2 hours. Drain. Pour beans into slow cooker.

* Stir in remaining ingredients. Mix well.

* Cover. Cook on low 8 hours or high for 4 hours, stirring occasionally

Tuna noodle casserole crockpot recipe

Ingredients needed:

* 2 6 1/2 oz cans water packed tuna, drained (Tuna in water not oil)
* 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup
* 1 cup of milk
* 2 tablespoons of dried parsley
* 10 ounce package of frozen mixed vegetables, thawed
* 10 ounce package of noodles, cooked and drained
* 1/2 cup toasted sliced almonds

Preparation needed:

* Combine tuna, soup, milk, parsley and vegetables. Fold in noodles. Pour into greased slow cooker (again, I use olive oil to grease my slow cooker). Top with almonds.

* Cover. Cook on low for 7 hours or high for 3 hours.

Makes an awesome tuna noodle casserole

Yummy macaroni and cheese crockpot recipe

Makes approximately 6 servings

Ingredients needed:

* 1 box of dry elbow macaroni, cooked
* 4 cups of shredded sharp cheddar cheese
* 1 can of evaporated milk
* 1 1/2 cups of milk
* 2 eggs
* 1 teaspoon of salt
* 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
* A little bit of chopped onion

Preparation needed:

* Combine all ingredients, except 1 cup of cheese, in greased crockpot. I put some olive oil in the bottom of the crockpot. Sprinkle extra cheese over top of all ingredients once they are in the pot.

* Cover, Cook on low for 3 hours. Do not remove the lid or stir until done cooking.

I also like to add just a tablespoon of mustard and I sprinkle a little old bay seasoning. It gives some extra zest and flavor.

* 6 cups diced cooked chicken

Prep needed:

* Combine all ingredients in crockpot.

Ingredients:

* 1 large boneless turkey breast
* 1/4 cup apple cider, or juice
* 1 teaspoon of salt
* 1/4 teaspoon of pepper

Prep needed:

* Put turkey breast in slow cooker. Drizzle apple cider over turkey. Sprinkle on both sides with salt and pepper.
* Cover. Cook on High for 3 to 4 hours.
* Remove turkey breast. Let stand for 15 minutes before slicing

This one is a great winter stew.

Ingredients:

* 1 cup chopped onions
* 1 tablespoon of olive oil
* 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
* 1/4 teaspoon of salt
* 1 garlic clove, minced
* 3 cups of peeled, butternut squash, cut into 3/4-inch cubes
* 1 and 1/2 cups chicken broth
* 19 ounce can cannellini beans, drained
* 14 1/2 ounce can diced tomatoes, undrained
* 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro

Prep steps:

* Combine all ingredients into crockpot
* Cover. Cook on High for 1 hour than reduce heat to low for about 2 to 3 hours.

Beef stew with mushrooms crockpot recipe

This is a delicious beef stew crockpot recipe if you like mushrooms. It makes approximately 6 servings.

Ingredients needed:

* 2 pounds of stewing beef, cubed
* 1 can of cream of mushroom soup
* 4-oz can mushrooms
* 1 envelope dry onion soup mix
* 1/2 teaspoon of salt
* 1/4 teaspoon of pepper
* half a soup can of water
* 1 can or jar of beef gravy

Preparation:

* Sprinkle bottom of greased slow cooker with the dry soup mix. Layer in meat, mushroom soup, canned mushrooms, and remaining dry onion soup mix. Pour water and gravy over the ingredients once they are in the crockpot.
* Cover. Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
* Serve over potatoes, noodles or rice. I like to add a bag of baby carrots and I usually just put the potatoes in the crockpot also.

This gives a good meat, starch and vegetable meal :-)

Easy crockpot recipes to simplify life

Crockpots are a proven, efficient way to reduce stress of people who work all day. They are efficient and a great way to offer substantial home-cooked foods to our families.

Slow cookers save busy people so much time. Honestly, I probably use my crock pot more than I use my actual oven. I have a teenage daughter who is very active in cheerleading and competition dance so our evenings consist of a lot of running.

I have a ton of crockpot recipes that are easy and nutritional. I try to offer different types of meals to my family so I love trying new things.

My husband consistently jokes to his friends, calling me "the queen of the crockpot". There are not many recipes that I can't do. He always brags though that he has some of the best home-cooked meals :-).

The meats are always juicy and tender and honestly, I think they taste better than the ones cooked in the oven.

I start the crockpot in the morning. I get home from work and dinner is pretty much done. It saves a bunch of time in my evenings. It's way better than grabbing fast food when you are in a time crunch with activities.

I have decided to start this blog to share some of my favorite recipes.

Also, please feel free to share your own on this blog. I am always looking for new recipes. We can save each other time by sharing our favorite recipes.
