Crockpot pepper steak

Crockpot pepper steak


Ingredients needed:

* 1 1/2 pounds beef top round steak
* 2 tablespoons of canola oil
* 1 cup of chopped onion
* 1/4 cup soy sauce
* 1 teaspoon of sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/4 teaspoon of pepper
* 1 garlic clove, minced
* 1/4 teaspoon of ground ginger
* 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
* 1 large green pepper, cut into strips
* 1 can of diced tomatoes, undrained
* 1/2 cup of water
* Hot cooked noodles or rice

Preparation steps:

* Cut beef into 3 inch by 1 inch strips. In a large skillet, brown beef in oil. Transfer to crockpot. Combine the onion, soy sauce, garlic, sugar, salt, ginger and pepper. Pour over the beef. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours. Add tomatoes and green pepper; cook on low for 1 hour longer.

* Combine cornstarch and cold water until smooth; gradually stir into crockpot. Cover and cook on high for 30 minutes until thickened. Serve with noodles or rice.
