Brazilian Spare Rib Stew Crockpot Recipe



Ingredients needed:

* 1/3 cup of finely chopped salt pork (or you can substitute 6 slices of bacon, chopped, for salt pork)
* 4 cans of black beans, rinsed and drained
* 4 cups of reduced-sodium beef broth
* 1 pound of pork spare ribs, cut into single-rib portions
* 1 package linguica sausage links, sliced
* 1 bag of beef jerky (4 ounce bag)
* 1 cup of frozen chopped onions
* 1 cup of water
* 1 tablespoon of chopped garlic
* 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
* 1 bay leaf

Preparation steps:

* In a medium skillet, over medium heat, cook salt pork for 6 to 8 minutes or until browned
* In your crockpot, stir together browned salt pork, beans, beef broth, ribs, sausage, beef jerky, onions, water, garlic, red pepper flakes, and bay leaf until combined
* Cover and cook on high for 4 to 5 hours
* Remove and discard bay leaf.
