Round Steak Sauerbraten Crockpot Recipe



Ingredients needed:

* 1 envelope of brown gravy mix
* 2 tablespoons plus 1 1/2 teaspoon of brown sugar
* 2 1/2 cups of cold water, divided
* 1 cup of chopped onion
* 2 tablespoons of white vinegar
* 2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce
* 2 bay leaves
* 2 1/2 lbs. beef top round steak, cut into 3-in. x's 1/2-in. strips
* 2 teaspoons of salt
* 1 teaspoon of pepper
* 1/4 cup of cornstarch
* 10 cups of hot cooked egg noodles

Preparation steps:

* In crockpot, combine the gravy mix, brown sugar, 2 cups of water, onion, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and bay leaves.
* Sprinkle beef with salt and pepper; stir into gravy mixture. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or until meat is tender.
* Combine cornstarch and remaining water until smooth; stir into beef mixture. Cover and cook on high for 30 minutes or until thickened. Discard bay leaves. Serve with noodles.
